Action for Business College
In July 2006 the College became the first in the region to be awarded Action for Business Colleges (A4BC) status by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
A skilled workforce is essential to any region’s economic success. The aim of the Action for Business College standard is to encourage a closer working relationship between colleges and local employers and to ensure that employers have access to the flexible training and support they need to develop their workforce and their competitive edge.
The A4BC standard was developed by the six LSCs of the South East in partnership with SEEDA (the South East England Development Agency) in response to the government’s Skills Strategy White Paper. In order to win accreditation colleges have to demonstrate their flexibility in helping sectors and individual employers and their ability to design and deliver provision that meets the needs and demands of the local economy.
