Frequently-asked questions

Need to know something? You may find your answer here.

Do you give any discount to pensioners?

  • Not unless the student is in receipt of the Guarantee Credit part of Pensions Credit. Savings Credit on its own does not give any discount. Discount means the tuition fee is waived, but the student still has to pay any applicable exam and materials fees.

Why do I have to complete an enrolment form every time I enrol?

  • It is an audit requirement for us to have a signed enrolment form for every enrolment.

How much discount do I get for being on a benefit?

  • If a student is in receipt of an applicable benefit then the tuition part of the fee is waived. The student still needs to pay materials and exam fees.

Can I pay on the first day of term/first day of the course?

  • Payment is on enrolment.

Can I get any help with my fees?

  • We do give remission of part of the fees for students on certain benefits.  Alternatively students can apply to the Learner Support Fund through the college, although funding is limited.

Can I study A-levels in one year?

  • We do not run a fast-track course for A-Levels.

Why do I have to produce evidence of my benefits every time I enrol?
  • Students' situations change – our auditors require us to check that we are giving remissions to the correct people. A student who was previously in receipt of a benefit may not still be receiving this benefit.
