What it's Like to Study Here

The College & its location

Abingdon & Witney College is a great place for overseas students to study. Our campuses are located rural Oxfordshire surrounded by countryside, yet just a short distance from the famous city of Oxford and with easy transport links to London.

It's a good place to live and gain an understanding of British culture, visit some famous sites, learn the most commonly used language in the world and study a course suited to your needs.

Each year students of more than 48 nationalities choose to study at Abingdon & Witney College. Many return to take new courses or introduce their friends to courses here. In recent student surveys, students always comment on the high quality of teaching and the very friendly atmosphere in the College. Most international students are located at the Abingdon campus where there are over 1800 full-time students.

Terms

The College year runs from September to July. There are three terms; the first runs from September to December, the second from January to March and the third from April to July. Our only enrolment intake is in September each year.

 

International Officer

An International Officer is based at the Abingdon campus to help you with all aspects of your learning and stay – applications, advice, visas, bank accounts, police registration and settling in.

 

When you Arrive in the UK

The College will arrange for you to:

  • have a welcome meeting with your tutor
  • be shown around the campus
  • be advised of any course books, kit or other equipment you may need for your course
  • be advised of when your enrolment day will be
