e-Learning Champion job role – Expressions of interest

 

This is an opportunity to have 1-3 hours a week timetabled to work with the e-Learning team (Ellen Lessner, e-Learning Coordinator, Mark Breedon, Beckie Dunsby, Nik Thomson – e-Learning Champions

 

e-Learning Champion - To work with the current e-Learning team to provide staff development training sessions (1-1, small groups, College Development Days) for college staff on the use of technology within their roles: 

·         To keep up to date with the ways that technology can support teaching and learning

·         To develop their own IT and e-learning skills to help the college keep up with developments in the use of technology in education. 

·         To work with students to promote a dialogue about the use of technology to improve teaching and learning in the college, and promote independent learning.

·         To support any project work relating to the use of technology in the college

B.   Competent IT Skills (see Silver standard levels), use of VLE, demonstration of use of a range of technology in own teaching.

A.    Arrange training sessions with groups or individuals

Hourly Paid Lecturers (1) in Photography

Witney Campus and Abingdon Campus as required

Up to £25.45 per hour

To teach photography on evening courses at both campuses. The applicant must possess a qualification at degree level or equivalent in Photography with working knowledge of Photoshop. Experience of teaching photography at Level 1 would also be desirable.

 

Assessing/Teaching qualifications are essential along with an interest in helping individuals to develop.

Learning Support Assistant

Learning Support Assistant

Learning support Assistant vacancy has arisen within the Foundation Training Department based mainly at the Abingdon campus. The requirement is for 32 hours term time only.

The candidate will be working with young adults with varying needs. Experience is not essential (but could be an advantage), as training will be provided. A good level of literacy, numeracy and ICT is essential as are good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

We are looking for an inspirational and conscientious individual to join our Science and Maths team.

You will have a dynamic approach to teaching for learning, be well motivated and a natural communicator.

The College currently delivers GCSE & AS/A2 Psychology as well as Psychology units on our vocational programmes.

Social Enterprise Instructor - DIY & Maintenance

 Social Enterprise Instructor - DIY & Maintenance

Abingdon & Witney College would like to establish a Social Enterprise which will aim to provide practical and vocational work experience skills for young people with a range of additional needs including learning and behavioural difficulties.

Situated within the Abingdon campus this project will offer a range of services to local businesses and the general public to provide practical real life work experiences for our students

The Instructor will play a key role in the development of the setting up, running, supporting and managing the learners and work experience in general for the area.

We are looking for an inspirational and conscientious individual to join our Motor Vehicle team in the Technology & Engineering Programme Area. All aspects of work in this area have shown increased student numbers over the past 2 years.

You will have a dynamic approach to teaching for learning, be well motivated and a natural communicator. The work in Motor Vehicle is diverse from Entry Level to Level 2 with full-time, 14–16, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship students.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highhly motivated, to join our successful Complementary Health, Hair and Beauty Team. Hairdressing is a brand new provision in the college and you will have the opportunity to be part of this new dynamic team.

You will be required to support and develop effective learning programmes within the Programme Area and work closely with the Course Leader and Programme Area Manager to design this new curriculum.

Lecturer in Equine

Excellent opportunity for an experienced equine lecturer to join a small team delivering a range of equine programmes including level 1,2 and 3 diplomas, foundation degree and BSc honours programmes.

You should be a skilled communicator, have excellent organisational skills and have experience of teaching a range of equine subjects across different ability groups. You should be qualified to degree level or equivalent, have excellent horse practical skills and have worked in a commercial area of the horse industry.

It is desirable that you are qualified to MSc level, hold BHS instructor qualifications or have worked for a number of years within a commercial stud and youngstock enterprise.
