Course descriptionThe Thoroughbred industry is an international billion-dollar concern. As such it requires highly qualified professionals with a broad range of skills. More than ever there is a demand for an understanding of sophisticated management techniques and scientific principles in the breeding and training of racehorses. This unique four year full-time course has been developed in collaboration with Oxford Brookes University to satisfy the ever-changing needs of the Thoroughbred industry. A combination of excellent facilities and expertise at Oxford Brookes University, the Thoroughbred stud enterprise and extensive industry connections of Abingdon and Witney College provide students with an exceptional opportunity. Students are taught at Oxford Brookes University and the Witney and Common Leys Farm campuses of Abingdon and Witney College. The third year of study is spent as a placement experiencing, hands-on, the Thoroughbred industry.
