Applying for a Course & Student Visas

Applying for a Course

We recommend you apply for your course early to ensure we have time to process your application, and to ensure you have time to apply for and receive a student visa.

If you are sure you have all the information you need:

  • Request an application pack from us (see contact us) which includes an application form, placement test and writing task.
  • Complete and return this to the International Officer along with copies of your previous qualifications, a copy of your passport and your sponsor confirmation letter (if required).
  • Once we have received your application and the tutor has confirmed you are suitable for the course, we will offer you a place and send you an offer letter.
  • If wish to accept the place offered to you, return the acceptance form enclosed with the offer letter and pay your 25% deposit.

Student Visas

When we receive your acceptance form and your deposit, we apply for a CAS number (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) from the UK Border Agency. This is then sent to you in a ‘CAS Statement’, which you use to apply for your visa.

Please keep us informed about the progress of your visa application, including any interview dates, acceptances, rejections and appeals.

When the Visa Services/Application Centre confirms you have been accepted for a student visa, please let us know your arrangements for arrival in the UK by completing the ‘Arrival Information’ form we will send to you.

Please be aware that while you are in the UK, we will be monitoring your attendance on your course. If your attendance falls below a certain level, we will report this to the UK Border Agency. If this happens frequently, they may visit you and check you are still attending your course. Therefore it is very important you attend all your scheduled lessons at College.

If you do not enroll to your course when you arrive in the UK, the UK Border Agency will deport you.
